Master Cylinders for Classic Fords: Choosing the correct master cylinder is key in getting proper braking; whether with all drum, disc/drum, or disc/disc brakes.
The disc/drum master cylinder has a 1″ bore with a 1″ rod engagement. This master cylinder is basically the same as the original 1970 Mustang master cylinder.
The disc/disc master cylinder I offer is also a 1″ bore with a 1″ rod engagement. This master cylinder has an aluminum body and a plastic reservoir to get a nice clean look for your braking system under the hood! It comes with the needed ISO metric bubble flare tube nuts so you don’t have to go source those.
We also carry a master cylinder for a strictly manual brake situation. If you have power brakes DO NOT use this master cylinder. Excessive pedal stroke will result if you use this master cylinder on a manual brake car. The bore on this master cylinder is 15/16″. This master cylinder was used on the 1974 Maverick non-power disc/drum car.
