The 12.5" S197 Brakes For 65-73 Mustang

This kit (12.5" S197 brakes for 65-73 Mustang) allows you to install 2005-2014 Mustang GT front brakes on your classic Ford using this kit. All you will need to source are the rotors, calipers, pads, and flex hoses!

Front Caliper Mounting Kit Can Use Any Set of the Following:

2005-2010 Mustang GT 12.5" front brakes - 17" wheels required

2011-2014 Mustang V6 12.5" front brakes - 17" wheels required

2011-2014 Mustang GT 13.2? front brakes – Use of the 13.2” brakes may require fitment of 18” wheels to clear the larger diameter rotor/caliper assembly.

2013-2014 Mustang GT 14" 4-piston performance package front brakes - May require fitment of 18” wheels to clear the larger diameter rotor/caliper assembly.

Some 17” wheels may clear 13.2" and larger rotors, but the owner is responsible to verify the fitment of wheels on the larger brakes.

American Racing Torque Thrust II 17” will not clear Cobra or GT calipers.

  • The kit includes custom caliper mounting brackets, grade 8 fitted bracket bolt kit, caliper mounting flange bolts, rotor hub-centric ring (positively centers rotor on hub), and detailed instructions or Click Here for Installation Instructions .

This is a bracket kit for drum brake spindles and hubs on 65-73 Ford Mustang, Cougar, 60-65 Falcon, Fairlane, Torino, Ranchero, etc.

NOTE: 65-67 Disc brake spindles are the same as drum brake spindles.  You must use V8 drum hub. This bracket kit will NOT fit Granada, Versailles, or 68-73 disc brake spindles.

Features: This kit installs late model 2005-2014 Mustang GT 12.5" or 13.2" rotors and calipers onto existing DRUM BRAKE hubs and spindles. The FRONT CALIPER BRACKETS ARE CAD DESIGNED AND CUT ON STATE-OF-THE-ART LASER MACHINES IN TEXAS. Brackets are made out of 3/8" steel plate. Removal of the spindles from the car is not necessary. Front end alignment is not necessary. Brackets bolt to original drum brake spindles utilizing drum brake hubs after removal of hub. GT rotors fit snug to the existing stud shoulders on the existing drum brake spindles. GT calipers bolt to the brackets. The vehicle track width does not change. This kit maintains the normal wheel backspacing.
