Mustang2 S197 Brake Conversion Kit for your classic Mustang or other classic Ford

Can use any of the following brakes:

2005-2010 Mustang GT 12.5" front brakes – 17" wheels required

2011-2014 Mustang V6 12.5" front brakes – 17" wheels required

2011-2014 Mustang GT 13.2" front brakes – Use of the 13.2” brakes may require fitment of 18” wheels to clear the larger diameter rotor/caliper assembly.

2013-2014 Mustang GT 14" 4-piston performance package front brakes - May require fitment of 18” wheels to clear the larger diameter rotor/caliper assembly.

Some 17” wheels may clear 13.2" and larger rotors, but the owner is responsible to verify the fitment of wheels on the larger brakes.

Installation Instructions

What hubs does the kit use?The bracket kits for the Mustang II or Heidt's 2" Drop Disc Brake spindles use the V8 drum brake hubs from a 65-73 Mustang or mid size Ford/Mercury.

What bearings and seals do yo use?  Use Mustang II bearings and seals

What does the kit included? Custom Caliper Mounting Brackets Grade 8 fitted bracket bolt kit Caliper mounting bolts w/flanged head Rotor hub-centric ring (positively centers rotor on hub)

Will Rod & Custom drop spindles work with this kit?  Since the Rod & Custom drop spindles have a proprietary brake bolt pattern, stock Mustang II brakes will not bolt up.  Since the MustangSteve brackets are designed to fit the stock Mustang II brake bolt pattern the MustangSteve brackets can be used but will require modification to match R&C non-stock bolt pattern.  If you plan to use MustangSteve brackets notify us before ordering.  We will leave the welded tab on the bracket un-welded so you can relocate it and weld it to fit your spindles.  You may also be required to relocate a drilled hole also.

Will American Racing Torque Thrust II 17” wheels work with this kit?  Unfortunately they will will not clear Cobra or GT calipers.
