This 10 PSI residual valve is installed inline between the master cylinder and drum brake calipers to keep 10 PSI of residual pressure at the caliper after the brake pedal is released. This will allow you to use a disc brake master cylinder with rear drum brakes. You can go ahead and upgrade your master cylinder to a disc/disc and upgrade your rear brakes later.
